What's New For Fall & Winter 2023?

We still have plenty of summer left but we thought it would be fun to look at some fall and winter trends. Transitioning between seasons can sometimes be a bit overwhelming but don’t worry we’ve got you covered! There are a ton of fascinating new trends every season. We’ve rounded up six trends that encompass the best of fall/winter 2023 along with tips on how to make them work in real life.

First, let’s look at the color trends for the coming season. Fall 2023 is bringing vibrant colors. Sick of Barbiecore? We’re seeing Red! No, we're not angry LOL!  This season, we’re switching pink for red. The season is dominated by this color. Red is an empowering color and I adore that. For a timeless look, pair with neutrals like black, gray or ivory. Combine with complementary hues like burnt orange or mustard yellow for a more striking contrast. This season, wearing a red lace or sheer piece is the sexiest option. If that isn’t your thing, try adding red accessories like jewelry, shoes or even sunglasses as an alternative.

Purple is up next. This color, which is radiant and regal, will give your outfits a dash of richness and refinement. With neutral colors, like cream, charcoal gray or pine green, it looks stunning.

Seafoam is the unexpected hue of the season. Your wardrobe gets a breath of fresh air thanks to this tranquil and calming color. It looks stunning with earthy tones. Patterned pieces that have seafoam included or a scarf are great ways to incorporate seafoam into your wardrobe.

This coming season, pine needles’ rich, deep color is also trendy. For a refined style, include this color into your clothes with coats, trousers or accessories.

Black and White. What's not to love...it’s always a classic but this year the runways are overflowing with this color combination. If red and purple are too much for you, the classic black and white combo is very much on trend too.

Each season showcases patterns in addition to colors. One pattern that is trending this season is tartan. I love tartan! It’s a classic winter print. The difference this year is that we see tartan in fun colors like red and pink, yellow and purple and yellow and royal blue. While tartan leggings are charming, you also incorporate it in smaller doses in shoes, scarves or accessories like gloves or a small clutch.

Now that we know the new fun fall and winter colors, what are the hot trending styles?

This season is about all things 𝖒𝖊𝖙𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖎𝖈. Think shimmer and shine. Every holiday season brings something sparkly, but this time it’s not all about sequins. Metallic material is trending and can be dressed up or down.

The trend that excites me the most is leather! 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣! This season, leather is used not only in simple leather jackets, but also in dresses, skirts, trousers and even shorts and layering them is trending this fall/winter season. I am so excited to have leather jackets back in my wardrobe. But to be honest, I never saw them as a trend. I always feel they are classic items and have been wearing mine for years.

𝕊𝕙𝕖𝕖𝕣 𝕕𝕖𝕥𝕒𝕚𝕝𝕤 have been on trend for some time, but this season we are pairing them with a variety of pieces. For those of us "off" the runway, the sheer outfits the models are wearing alone may be a little too revealing. So, wearing them layered over a tank top or attractive bralette could be preferable. The simplest way to wear the trend this season is probably to integrate a sheer top into your fall and winter wardrobe rotations. They come in every silhouette (crop tops! Button downs! Turtlenecks! Bodysuits!), proving just how simple they are to style. This is a fun trend to experiment with and create your own unique look.

If there is one trend to buy this season, it is heavy metal. No, not a vinyl record of your favorite band but rather 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗸𝘆 𝗷𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗿𝘆! And I’m here for it! This season it is the ideal outfit finisher. Style with anything and everything from evening wear to elevated basics.

You know the saying – all that is old is new once more. Well, the 50’s inspired silhouette is back. Hourglass silhouettes are a runway theme this season. From cinched waists, peplum tops to full-volume skirts.

Some of the trends can be a bit pricey to incorporate into your wardrobe. Accessories can be the quickest way to breathe new life into your wardrobe. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀….you don’t need a big budget to follow these trends. This season’s accessories include large bags that are big enough to fit the kitchen sink, tights in a variety of patterns and colors, and slim belts. One that I found fascinating is the neck tie. It's being paired with basic white button downs and business attire. Think less Avril Lavigne and more sharp and polished.

What fall trend caught your eye? As I look over the coming trends, I know one I will definitely be adding to my closet is more red items. Red is my favorite color, so I’m very happy that it’s a trend color. I think red shoes would be fun! As I said before, I love leather jackets and already have a few of them, but I think leather pants would be a fun addition to my wardrobe. I'm thinking they'd be perfect for date night! When it comes to sheer/lace items, honestly, I’m not sure if I can pull it off. But, perhaps if layered over a top that gives me full coverage I might consider trying it....we'll see!

As always, when discussing fashion trends, remember to wear what you love no matter what’s on the runway. Be trend-conscious and try what suits your style, body shape and lifestyle. Have fun with fashion trends!
