How To Style Faux Leather Pants

One of my favorite trends this season are faux leather trousers. Undoubtedly, leather pants are not a new fashion trend. They come and go, just like many trends, but right now they are all over. So, what is different this time? Today’s version is more fashion-forward than the past. The latest versions are looser, have a wider leg and some even a slightly baggy fit. Faux leather pants instantly add an edge to any outfit with almost zero effort!

I know what you are thinking… 𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖗 𝖕𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖘??! I can’t wear those! Leather pants and how to style them can be a bit intimidating. But trust me, you can do it!

In this month’s blog, we are going to discuss ways to style leather pants, to give you some inspiration to look and feel your best in them!

WIDE LEG

 For a wide leg trouser style, a slim fitting top such as a tank or bodysuit paired with chunky sneakers then topped off with an oversized jacket or shacket makes an easy casual outfit perfect for traveling, lunch with a friend or a casual weekend. Let’s not forget date night! A blazer and heels looks excellent with wide leg trousers, giving them a dressier look that’s ideal for a date night! 

Faux leather pants and a graphic shirt is one of my favorite combinations. If you’ve been following Coastal Loft for any time you’re probably thinking, “𝑩𝒊𝒈 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆,” as you are aware of my obsession with graphic tees. In any case, styling traditional straight legs is quite simple. Put on your go-to graphic tee and add those chunky sneakers or lug loafers for a laid-back vibe! A blazer or denim jacket can easily be added to finish the ensemble. Not a graphic tee fan, that’s OK, honestly, any tee will look terrific!

LEGGINGS

Faux leather leggings are super easy and comfortable. They look amazing with an oversized shirt or sweater. This is a look I gravitate towards when I want to be put together and comfortable. Sneakers are always a perfect match but if you want to elevate your outfit try adding booties. Looking for something a bit 𝕖𝕕𝕘𝕪? Try adding lug boots or combat boots. I love wearing combat boots with my leather leggings. Kick up the edginess another notch by adding a leather moto jacket or puffer jacket. Long cardigans are another perfect mate for leather leggings and instead of a sneaker add a high heel for a more polished look. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯 – 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘱-𝘵𝘰-𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘢 𝘮𝘪𝘥-𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘯𝘦. Leather leggings are so versatile and a staple every closet should have.

KICK CROP

The kick crop is the pinnacle of casual leather pant style. Wearing these with a sweater, shirt or graphic sweatshirt (𝒎𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒏𝒆!) looks really nice. For a dressier look, they also look fantastic layered with a long coat or blazer and a low heel.

DRESSING THEM UP

The holidays or other special occasions go well with leather pants! Try adding something with feathers or fur to spruce up your leather. This could be a purse adorned with feathers/fur or a shirt with feathered or fur cuffs. Then, incorporate a sultry shoe – perhaps one with an eye-catching or exotic print, like leopard!

There is nothing like a good pair of faux leather pants for the fall. Faux leather pants are a terrific alternative to jeans and can make any outfit look stylish.
