Casual Outfits for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving just gives me all the β€œπ’‡π’†π’†π’π’”β€! There’s family, friends, a long relaxing weekend and so much delicious food. Just thinking about it makes me want to unbutton my jeans a notch! π“›π“žπ“›!

I always worry a little bit about dressing for Thanksgiving. I want to be as comfortable as possible because I literally plan to eat all the good food! We have rather informal Thanksgiving dinners, so dressy attire is not necessary. Even though we have a casual vibe, I still want to look and feel my best. Plus, we all know we have to look cute for those pics that’ll be uploaded to Facebook and Instagram.

Thanksgiving is about comfort and overeating so let’s get rid of the tight and high-waisted clothing. In this month’s blog, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite casual Thanksgiving outfit ideas that you can whip up with minimal effort for the ultimate comfort and style.

Wearing sweater dresses is ideal for Thanksgiving. They are cozy like your favorite sweater, but elevated. I see that as a win-win situation. The nicest part about a sweater dress is that you feel comfy 𝑨𝑳𝑳 around – no tight waistband or buttons pulling – and all you need to add is some jewelry and shoes to have the perfect Thanksgiving outfit. A bonus…sweater dresses go well with almost every kind of shoe. Ankle boots look amazing with a sweater dress, but for a more laid-back vibes, you could also wear them with cute sneakers or flats. Our taupe sweater dress looks adorable with sneakers.

What could be cozier than leggings? Undoubtedly informal, yet they are also a breeze to dress up. Just add some β€œπ’ƒπ’π’Šπ’π’ˆβ€, booties and an oversized sweater and you are ready for the festivities. If you’re not a lover of booties, stylish sneakers will do the trick. You can also wear them with knee-high boots and a long cardigan. Let’s not forget this season’s hot trend – leather. When worn with an oversized top and leopard flats, leather leggings give off an appearance of sophistication. Our plaid leggings are Thanksgiving approved....comfy, classic and easy to style.

My go-to outfit is usually jeans and a sweater or top. This combo is food coma approved when you pair it with a loose or oversized sweater. I do like to dress it up a little by wearing a nice heel. If you’re not into heels for Thanksgiving, consider wearing a lovely pair of flats, perhaps with a playful design like leopard. While still being put together, everything is still easygoing and comfortable.

Layering is a really simple way to seem put-together without putting much effort into your wardrobe, no matter what you choose. Cardigans, as I mentioned earlier, are the ideal layering piece to dress up an ensemble. A tan long open cardigan, black booties, black shirt, and jeans are a chic combination. Another striking combination is a chambray shirt with black jeans, a tan jacket (suede works great) and booties.

𝑬𝒇𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒐 π’„π’π’Žπ’‡π’π’“π’•π’‚π’ƒπ’π’†, that’s the moral of the story. Whether it’s a Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving festivity, you’ll look and feel your best as you celebrate the holiday. Comfort is always in fashion.

Which is your favorite? I personally love the sweater dress with sneakers look.
